Social Enterprise Graduate Management Scheme

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £23,569 per annum

Location: Letchworth, SG6 1HB, with some travel to other sites in Hertfordshire (Ware, St Albans, Hemel) and one in London, NW1

Contract type: Fixed Term- 12 months

Active Ageing OTAGO Specialist

Reference: AA/O

Hours: 37 hours per week

Hourly rate: £11.65 to £13.50 per hour, subject to qualifications and experience.

Location: Post based Hemel or Ware site. Travel across Hertfordshire to provide home-based screenings and exercise support will be required. Most work will take place in clients’ homes.

Contract type: Fixed term contract for the duration of the project until 1st April 2021 (possibility of extension).

Description:

This role is a key part of HILS Active Ageing programme, which is designed to improve the health and wellbeing of frail, elderly, disabled, and vulnerable clients living at home. The service will comprise of screening, behaviour motivation, the specialist exercise programme Otago Strength and Balance, tailored seated exercise support (all delivered in the home), as well as tailored support and motivation for clients to attend exercise provision in the community. The service aims to:

• Promote and develop greater independence, quality of life and a healthy active lifestyle among older people • Provide tailored support to individuals in their homes or the community to prevent hospital admissions (due to falls)

The primary function of the role is to complete screening assessments, and provide tailored exercise support and behavioural motivation to clients at home, and/or to support clients to mobilise beyond their home, to participate in community based exercise activities. Throughout the programme, monitoring and evaluation will be very important and the post holder will be expected to keep excellent records of activities and work completed.

The post holder will be at the centre of this new preventative health initiative, and must be an enthusiastic, highly-motivated, and aspirational individual to join this high-impact social business. It is essential that the post holder is confident in managing their own workload and often working alone, and is comfortable working in a rapidly developing environment.

The post holder will need to be hands-on and ready to get involved in a variety of tasks including client screening, tailored exercise support, and providing guidance to part-time Active Ageing Champions who will also be providing one-to-one support for individuals at home. We’re looking for someone that ‘gets stuff done’ with a can-do attitude.

Active Ageing Champion

Reference: AA/C

Hours: 37 hours per week

Hourly rate: £9.00 per hour

Location: This role is based at one of four HILS sites: Letchworth, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, or Ware. Visits will be required to clients in their own homes, where most of HILS’ active ageing services are delivered.

Contract type: Fixed term contract for the duration of the project until 1st April 2021 (possibility of extension).

Description:

This role is a key part of HILS new Active Ageing programme, which is designed to improve the health and wellbeing of frail, elderly, disabled, and vulnerable clients living at home.

The Active Ageing Champions will be responsible for two elements of the programme:

• Complete simple evaluations of clients’ current physical health and fitness at the start of the programme, and at the end of the programme, in order to measure progress • Discuss the clients’ goals and objectives for the programme • Deliver 10 weekly sessions of chair-based exercise for clients in their homes • Encourage and motivate those clients who are able, to do exercise in the community. This includes going with them to some classes, health walks, and leisure groups, etc. to help them to settle in • Encouraging clients to increase their level of physical activity, while ensuring their safety at all times.

Dementia Club Activities Assistant

Reference: DC/AA

Hours: 16.5 hours per week: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (Flexibility around set days can be negotiated)

Hourly rate: £9.00 per hour

Location: Jubilee Centre, St Albans, AL3 5BU

Contract type: Permanent

Description:

The primary function of this role is to support the Team Leader in providing engaging, stimulating and fun activities for the club members throughout the day. The Activities Assistant will offer caring support to clients and their carers, and to help provide support for the launch of the new Monday club sessions.

This position requires a great deal of creativity and flexibility. The Activity Assistant must be able to provide supervision for clients when necessary, and ensure clients are kept safe during activities. This includes strict control of items which could be potential safety hazards.

The Activity Assistant is responsible for keeping our clients socially and cognitively engaged through recreational exercises. They must ensure that scheduled programming is carried out according to the posted schedule at all times. The Activity Assistant is responsible for keeping the Team Leader informed on needs of the program and/or changes in the clients’ ability to actively participate in the club.

Weekend Meals Service Adminstrator

Reference: WMSA

Hours: 12 hours per week, 6 hours per day on Saturday and Sunday

Hourly rate: £9.75 per hour

Location: Hemel Hempstead, HP2 4EU

Contract type: Permanent

Description:

The primary function is to provide administrative support to ensure the smooth running of HILS’ meals services at the Hemel Hempstead site. This will mainly be meals on wheels, but will also include administration of the ‘emergency food and grocery pack’ scheme. The successful post-holder will be expected to offer excellent customer service to internal and external parties, ensuring clients’ safety and wellbeing is priority.

Community Meals on Wheels Driver - Hertfordshire

Hours: We are currently recruiting for team members to support in the operations of our meals service between the hours of 11am until 2pm, with some flexibility to work after 2pm in the event of unexpected delays

Hourly rate: £9.00 per hour (weekdays) and £9.75 per hour (weekends)

Location: Letchworth, Ware, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans
