Food, Fun and Festivities at the 9th annual Jubilee Centre Christmas Party

Over 50 local residents attended our annual Christmas party at the Jubilee Centre on December 17th to enjoy a raffle, carol singing, and delicious Christmas lunch.

The day started on a melodic note as partygoers enjoyed festive tunes sung by the enthusiastic students of Maple Primary School. Attendees then joined in a singalong themselves with some classic carols, including ’O’ Little Town of Bethlehem’ and ‘Away in a Manger.’

Music was followed by a raffle with fantastic gifts donated by local businesses, and some Christmas-themed puzzles – all accompanied by mince pies and tea.

Celebrations continued with a classic Christmas lunch complete with turkey, stuffing, pigs in blankets, and plenty of crackers, followed by Christmas pudding and custard.

Once our guests were well and truly full, Santa made an appearance, and he wasn’t empty-handed! Everyone received a tasty Christmas treat, kindly donated by Burtons Biscuits. Mr. Claus also awarded the raffle prizes, which included wine, a handstitched blanket, chocolates, and a giant teddy bear.

‘It’s great to see everyone together and having fun’, says Gina Shaw, HILS Jubilee Centre Team Leader. ‘Christmas is a wonderful time of year, but it can be lonely if you don’t have friends and family around you. I love organising the Christmas party every year because it gives us an opportunity to spend time with our Jubilee Centre family – plus we always have a visit from Father Christmas!’

HILS would like to thank everyone who attended, and all our amazing donors who made this such a successful day. We hope to see you all again next year.

Merry Christmas to everyone!
