LILS is an extension of Hertfordshire Independent Living Service (HILS), an award-winning, charitable, not-for-profit social enterprise helping people to stay independent, healthy, and happy in their homes. HILS also helps alleviate long term unemployment by providing opportunities to people facing barriers to work.

LILS is currently providing meal services in the boroughs of Camden and Haringey. The core service offered is the delivery of hot, nutritious lunches and desserts and complimentary welfare checks for the disabled, elderly, and vulnerable.

If you are interested in receiving meals, or referring someone else to receive meals, please find more information in the following links:

Lunchclub Service

Food for groups: Delivered hot to any location in the London Boroughs of Camden and Haringey

Nutrition and Wellbeing Service

Nutrition and Wellbeing Checks

LILS has recently launched a Nutrition and Wellbeing Service which aims to tackle malnutrition in Haringey by carrying out Nutrition and Wellbeing checks and offering training and group education sessions. The service is managed and delivered by a Registered Dietitian.

Nutrition and Wellbeing checks are available free of charge to all of our Haringey meals on wheels clients, as well as any Haringey resident.

A member of the Nutrition and Wellbeing team will visit the client in their own home to carry out the Nutrition and Wellbeing check. Individualised advice will be given and information will be provided about other services that might be useful. Ongoing support will be available as needed.

To organise a visit for a loved, please fill out the above referral form and email it to:

Training and Group Education Sessions

We are also offering nutrition training and group education sessions to professionals, carers or groups of older or vulnerable people. We can provide ‘bitesize’ 30 minute training sessions on topics such as: “Good Nutrition for Older People”, “Identifying Malnutrition”, “Managing Malnutrition” and “Nutrition and Dementia”. We can also offer longer training sessions.

If you are interested in working for LILS we have some exciting vacancies!

We need caring people, who are interested in helping their local community to become Community Team Members. Our Community Team Members are responsible for delivering meals on wheels to vulnerable, disabled and elderly clients across London. If you are interested, please find more information by clicking here.

Through enabling more elderly people to live happily and healthily out of care, giving disadvantaged people the opportunity to work, and fostering a sense of community amongst those easily isolated in London; we aim to grow from a Camden and Haringey meals on wheels service, to a vehicle of social transformation for London.
